Porcelain & Zirconia Dental Crowns

Which Crown Material Is Right for You?

A damaged, cracked or missing tooth can affect your appearance and your ability to eat comfortably. At Ayesha Dental Care in Wapda Town, Lahore, Dr. Ayesha Irfan Sethi offers dental crowns and bridges that restore the strength, shape and natural look of your teeth.

What Is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that fits over an existing tooth, covering it completely from the gum line upward. It restores the shape, strength and appearance of a tooth that is cracked, worn, heavily filled or weakened, for example after a root canal. Crowns can be made from porcelain, zirconia, ceramic or porcelain-fused-to-metal. Read more in our guide to porcelain and zirconia crowns.

What Is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge fills the gap left by one or more missing teeth. It is made of crowns on the neighbouring teeth with an artificial tooth in between, so the gap is "bridged". A bridge helps you chew comfortably, stops nearby teeth from drifting into the space, and improves the look of your smile. If you would rather not have the neighbouring teeth shaped, ask us about dental implants as an alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does getting a crown or bridge hurt?
The treatment is done under local anaesthesia, so you should not feel pain during it. Some sensitivity for a few days afterwards is common.

How long do crowns and bridges last?
With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups they can last many years, often a decade or more. The material you choose makes a difference.

What if my crown breaks or comes loose?
